Hi all
So glad to have found this site! I've been getting into all the chemistry and appreciating all the guidance.

Pool is no longer green but still cloudy, but kids desperate to swim in this hot Australian summer. I want to keep the chlorine low enough to swim but run filter lots to get rid of cloudiness. (I have 0 CC and passed the OCLT).
Any way I can do this other than manually controlling SWG switch?

Current levels:
FC 9.5
CC 0
pH 7.8
TA 60
CYA 75
Salt ~5000

awaiting a CH test kit in case that's the source of cloudiness... there's some buildup on the sides. Could also be the terrible paint job we sadly paid a lot for a few years ago :( we often come out of pool with blue feet.

Welcome to TFP.
Your SWCG should be set to replenish your daily loss of FC. So if you are losing 4ppm per day due to UV and bather load, ensure your SWCG is set at the right % based on your run time of pump to replenish that 4ppm.
Have you used the PoolMath app? That will help guide you to set % of SWCG and run times of pump.

If you follow the TFP methodology, then you can swim with your FC level at 9.5 with a CYA of 80 (we round up to the higher decade number). Have you reviewed the FC/CYA Levels? This guides us on the right level of FC to maintain based on your CYA level to obtain the proper sanitation. You can swim at that level of FC and in fact you can swim to the higher level that is shown as SLAM level which is 40% of your CYA level. So you are good for swimming even if your FC reaches 32ppm (for CYA of 80). If you are not familiar with our process then please review Pool Care Basics

Welcome! I'll also add that since you noted the pool was recently green, it's possible you are still battling algae if you did not complete the SLAM Process in its entirety. By that I mean passing all 3 SLAM criteria. Read the SLAM Process closely to be sure. If you have any question slet us know. Enjoy the forum. :swim:
