On a side note I’m now running my pump off a smart plug which also measures energy consumption. On my usual filter speed my pump consumes 154W!! Down from 550W for my last pump! Love it!

since putting on the extra silicone grease the leaking has completely stopped! I’m running at 2000rpm right now for about 4 hours and it’s perfect.
thanks to the clear choice labs test kit my son and his mates are happy to report the they can open their eyes underwater with no stinging. First time in this pool!

The water is 27c and crystal clear thanks to you kind folk. We’re looking forward to a cool summer in the pool!

My pleasure to be able to help someone out, properly balanced water is a joy to be in and the forum shows us how .... Since you started your adventure i've installed a 32" sand filter, re-plumbed to a new pad, changed the valved return out for a 2" fitting making the entire setup hard plumbed now. Installed the SWCG and finally starting to tune it for cover off v cover on. The Pentair Enviromax 800 is an excellent pump for these above ground pools with the ability to set just the right speed

@AusPhil you will have to post pics showing the final result. I'd love to install a SWCG but probably not a good idea for a Bestway Hydrium pool (lots of metal).
