Is it recommended that I use a product of some sort to spray on the filters, let sit then use a hose to rinse? I've heard of this but wasn't sure it's actually advisable and if so what do you recommend? We have a pentair free and clear plus with 4 filters.

On the rare occasion I feel that oils have accumulated on my cart filter and it needs more than a hose rinse, I'll soak it in a 30-33 gal trash can with TSP or Cascade dishwasher soap. Let it soak for a few hours or overnight then rise REALLY well unless you want a bubble bath pool.
