Pressure gauge stripped

So, I left my pressure gauge out over the winter, won’t do that again. This is season three of the intex sand filter that can with the pool. I purchased a new gauge, when I tried to install it with the same hardware, it won’t tighten. Can that piece be replaced? I was hoping to get at least 3 seasons with this cheap filter. Am I out of luck? Is it time to just replace the darn thing?

Have you tried wrapping the gauge heavily with teflon tape to see if it helps grab?

I have,.. contemplating glue,.. not sure I can glue it without blocking the flow.

I see threads that are damaged. You may be able to just clean the
hanging pieces and try to install it. The other approach to consider
would be to open the multiport vavle and see if the you can remove
the restrictor and then use a tap to clean the threads up.

what is wrong here? It is $150 cheaper than the 18" 1HP system?

I would not use glue unless it was a last ditch effort - you're done after that attempt if it doesn't work. If you decide to go that route, use an AB Epoxy and let it set up the recommended time plus some...

I replaced my cheap gauge that I replaced 2 years ago from the pool store for my Hayward filter last year with a quality one from Grainger. I paid $12.57.
