 Should equipment be left on or turned off? I added Shock & Floater to the pool this morning and just before the winds & rain picked up. But with our power going on then off, not good for equipment? Would that be ok for a few days to turn off? This storm is going to be hard for many and I am sure I am not the only one with this issue. PLEASE HELP

Hi WMS I plan on turning off all pool equipment from the breakers. Bring FC levels up. I Have brought mine up to 20. Good luck

I would flip the breaker to the pump off. You are correct that the power surges are not good for it. Do you have a power surge suppressor on the line? If not I would think about getting one when you are able for the future.

If you even think it might go under water I would also think about removing it and putting somewhere it will not get flooded.

IF your pump and equipment does go under water do NOT turn it on until you know it is dry inside and out.

 you look like your part of FL is going to miss the eye BUT you are on the "bad" side for the wind and rain.

Kim (the eye might be going over us here)
