Hi! I'm sending these pictures because I have leaks between filter and pump fitting and out of the ball valve I put on drain. I don't know if I have the correct fittings in the right places since the diagrams are so useless. I don't have any help and contacted Hayward but they haven't gotten back to me yet and I don't have all the time in the world. I don't know if I'm missing a part between the pump and filter? I have all the fittings wrapped with plumbing tape the correct way. I'm limited on tools, but do have an adjustable wrench and I'm beating up that union trying to stop the leak. Could someone help me out here by letting me know if I have everything set up correctly? The pool isn't all the way filled yet, but when it is, I'll be afraid to turn on the pump. Thank you in advance!

Thank you for answering me. I got the connection fixed between the pump and filter so it's not leaking anymore. Now everything is set up, no leaks and I need to add water tomorrow and see what happens after I start it up.

Can you take a better picture of the connection between the pump and filter?...and are you just using the pump to filter fittings that came with the kit or something else?
Ok, everything is running great accept for this one little leak to the filter.. It drips every 4 seconds. What should I do?

Pretty much the only thing you can do is to remove it and re-wrap the threads. Make sure you wrap them enough, and look for any hairline cracks in the filter housing.
I got that problem solved and now I have another one. I have a hairline crack in my skimmer and now that's dripping. I went to the hardware store and bought 3M Marine Adhesive Sealant Fast Cure 4000 UV. I keep putting it on and the water is still dripping. Maybe the guy sold me the wrong stuff? Shouldn't he have sold me something that can be used when there is water present? I'm applying it to the outside of the skimmer. I don't want to have to drain my pool down and redo it or buy a new skimmer right now. That I won't be able to do myself. It's always something.
