Poolvergnugen "The Pool Cleaner" bypass valve/regulator

I have a 4x suction version. I was browsing the Poolvergnugen website looking for replacement wheels when I noticed that the replacement bypass valve/regulator is different from the one that came with my unit. Can anyone tell me whether there is a difference in the function they provide? Is one better than the other? I have included pictures. Thanks to any comments.

I just bought the wheels from Amazon and saw this same item there, looks to perform same function as before. The company has excellent phone and email customer service so try them directly for fastest response.
