I have a preplexing situation. When the pool is on, pool water will drain from an area drain into the street. It only does this when the pool is on and it does not lose water when the equipment is off. Is this a valve problem? I have had a leak detection done on the entire pool and they say it is tight and no leaks. Thanks so much for your help.

It sounds like you have a sand or DE filter and the MPV is leaking out the backwash / waste pipe.
