Pool store testing question

I've read many postings and understand that TFP are adamant against using the pool store testing and for us to do our own testing.

What if my local store actually utilize the Taylor pool testing equipment, model K-2005C, would that be acceptable?

I watched them. They use my water that I bring to flush out the equipment before testing to avoid cross-contaminations. Then I take the results, bring them home and check it on the Pool Math calculator and adjust the chemicals accordingly.

I have a hard time comparing the colors on the test equipment myself.

Anyone care to chime in? Thanks

Your odds of a reasonable result increase here. But dirty vials or impatience by the tester can still foul them.

Can a nurse feed your baby ? *crud Yes.
Would they die for it ? *crud. Probably still yes
Would they pay $360k college tuition for it ? AHA !!!! No they would not.

Only you will ever care like you do. 😁

What tests and how so ? Maybe we can help.

The K2005 doesn’t have the FAS-DPD test for chlorine and so it wouldn’t be useful here. Coincidentally, the chlorine test the 2005 uses is the hard to read color comparison style and doesn’t give exact results, and won’t read chlorine over 5ppm (or 10ppm depending on the exact style)

It was just hard for me to see the colors correctly.
Most of the TF-100 tests are color-CHANGE, not color-GRADIENT.

TA, CH, FC and TotalC are color change (or color to no-color). If you are trying use the comparator block for Chlorine measurement, thats not very accurate (and really is a 'is there chlorine or not' type test only).

I think I might be getting color blind hence why I'm having the difficulty detecting the color differences.

No matter what shade you see, you can tell that the shade drastically changed from watermelon pink to clear water. Etc etc.
