Pool Stairs too low

Hello, my pool stairs have sunken. Which is causing rain water, dirt and debris to flow into the steps and pool. Is there a way to raise the steps or create a barrier to prevent run off from going into the pool.

Which is causing rain water, dirt and debris to flow into the steps and pool. Is there a way to raise the steps or create a barrier to prevent run off from going into the pool.

You get runoff from the coping all around the pool. How is the area around the stairs different?
