Pool Plaster / Stone Scapes Questions

New pool build. First pool we built. Plaster work looks awful to us. We went with Stonescapes Tropics and they put mica also from stone scapes. They said keep brushing and in a few weeks will be good. We disagree. They are offering to drain pool, re acid wash and said thats all that needs to be done. We contacted Stonescapes and they have a rep coming out next week. Thoughts? Opinions?

Happened to me. I got marks filling up from the hoses in different parts and wasnt told not to do that. Rep came out and said the start up was bad and it was scale. Weve done two scale treatments hasnt changed to much. Acid wash probably the only way to get rid of it but i dont want to drain the pool again and acid wash lessens the durability and makes it rougher. Ive heard of doing a soft acid wash with the water still in it working out for some. I think thats my only two options left or live with it🤷🏻‍♂️

Not the worst I have seen, but the exposure does look uneven.

I would ask them to try acid on an area with the pool full. Use a pvc pipe, put one end on the floor of the pool on one of those bigger whitish spots. Pour acid in the other end and it will sink to the floor as it is heavier than water. Let it work a bit and brush it away. See if that fixes it.

They do have underwater acid wash kits which use a acid feed line to expel the acid through a pad on the end of a pool brush pole.

Another problem with a full acid wash is you are treating the whole surface not just the discolored spots.
