Pool overflowing

We have had several storms the past few days. Today we got about 3 inches of rain. When I got home from work the pool level is about to the top of the skimmer, of course I want to drain some of it off, but it is still raining hard with lighting and thunder. Will it be ok until morning? This weather sure has made it hard to defeat my algea problem but on a good note...I can see the bottom

It should just overflow the skimmer and run away from the pool. You could run out and pop the cover off the skimmer if there's going to be a lot more rain.
