Pool opening 2024

I really don’t think it matters at this point. Plugging the pool isolated the leak. I assume you plan on fixing it tomorrow. Once it’s fixed and you take the plugs you’ll have air. Monitor it when restarting.

Looks like the top Of that elbow to Pipe is leaking. How far into the ground is the pipe connected to the elbow going? Cut pump off if needed and the lowest to the ground you can get to then purple primer and glue another new pool sweep or elbow onto that pipe and then cut off the upper left part pipe a few inches from old elbow and add a coupler or try and get the new elbow to meet the new small pipe/coupler.
and it looks like somebody glued a coupling really close to the elbow where it comes out of the ground. going to need to dig down a bit more and get at least 2 couplings and a new elbow along with a stick or scrap if pipe. I would cut that whole horizontal section that is now all gummed up with flex seal out and replace both elbows, if I was doing it.

edit - that horizontal piece almost looks like spa flex hose. the sun rot doesn't look like regular pipe.

I used the nashua foil tape and then the silicone fuse tape. With filter on still some dripping but i left it iff sunday night and just turned it on monday night for 2 hours when i added the liquid chlorine. I also put filter on while getting ready for work this morning. I have a pool guy coming today to fix. He will use a solid pipe instead of a flexible one At least that is what he said on the phone. So hopefully by tonight i will be solvent again. This guy sounded good and was recommended by the guy who closes my pool every year and i know him about 10 years. Hopefully by time i get home all will b good
