Hi All! I'm very glad to have found TFP - we bought our home 3 years ago. First time home owners and first time pool people. I just took over pool care. It's been a steep learning curve this summer, and a LOT of work. I'm starting to get the hang of things, but have so much still to learn.
I found the TFP site will researching pool heating options - our heater died. It's over 15 yrs old - it doesn't owe us much (although it would have been nice if it had survived a bit longer). We've been replacing almost all the appliances in our house so far (the people who left certainly chose the right time to sell).
I'm hoping to use my central AC with a heat exchanger to heat the pool - I've found a product that looks really interesting. But I need to make sure that it is the right product for our environment in Ontario, that it won't void my new AC's warranty, and that it's approved for use here. There was a review of the product here, which is how I found TFP.
I am confidently expecting that our pool pump and our pool liner will need to be replaced within the next couple of years. I am sincerely hoping that none of the plumbing or landscaping will have problems, because it's all stamped concrete around the pool.
