Pool light fix

Hey guys,

So this is the third season since we moved into this house with the pool. There is a light at the end of the pool that doesnt work. The last two summers I havent worried with it. But now I would like to see If i can get it to work.

There are a few screws that hold the cover on, and then the light bulb. Is it safe to just open the cover and unscrew the bulb? It is underwater, and the thought of electric shock doesnt really seem like fun.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

First look at the breaker box for the pool and try to find the breaker for the light. Make sure it's OFF. Then remove the retaining ring and get access to the light fixture so you can pull it out and set it up onto the decking where you can inspect everything. Have a test meter so you can test to ensure power (when applied) is going to the light fixture. If you confirm power, then you can check into replacing the bulb or fixture as needed. But let us know if there are any unusual issues along the way.

Thanks so much for this Texas Splash! I'll take a look at it when the water temp rises above 48° LOL because I'm pretty sure I'll have to be in the water to do this one. It will be great to have the light fixed though :) add a little ambience in the water at night.
