Pool Light Failure

I have the Pentair easy touch system with 4 breakers in the panel. My pool lights just stopped working and the GFI outlet is also not working (no voltage). I initially assumed the GFI breaker failed but it seems to be OK. Is it possible that the pool lights will stop working if the GFI outlet fails, i.e. might the lights be tied to the outlet?

Yes, it is not uncommon for a pool light to be run through a gfci outlet. And they can fail.

This happened to me about a year ago. Replaced the GFCI and it worked fine.
