Pool light burned out

I just wanted to add that this is the exact same light I have. I remove mine when I close every winter. You may be able to get in with a flat head screwdriver and try to pry it away from the sides.
I have a breaker for the pool light in my basement so I'd make sure that was off first. The cord that is attached to the light is very long also so you should be able to take it right out.
Also my screw is stripped (just kinda sits in the hole) so it actually just comes in and out with ease, a little too easy (the whole light fixture).

Good luck!

I wanted to send an update on this issue. I was able to pull the light out with a flathead screwdriver. The gasket was in pretty bad shape but it was dry inside the enclosure. Went to Leslie's and got a new bulb and gasket. Installed both but water leaked into the enclosure pretty quickly. Drying everything out now and am going to retry tomorrow using some silicone gel to make that seal as right as possible.

So we got the enclosure sealed up. Submerged it and there is no water leaking in. However we can't get the light to stay in the niche. There is a screw broken off in the usual hole at the 12:00 position.

Any advice on how we can get the light to stay inside the niche?

Look for an easy out tool at the hardware store. Essentially they are a reverse screw bit that when you go counter clockwise, they drill into what's left of the screw, grab it while you loosen. If it's a brass screw in there it might come out well. Easy outs work well on larger screws, mixed results on smaller ones...

Edit: also see if maybe you can grab the screw on the backside and turn it out using a pliers, maybe a needle nose type or vise grips. Doing this may ruin the threads on the back, making it more difficult to get out though...

That may be an option on the screw.

I tested the light just now to see if it would turn on. Unfortunately, it does not. The GFCI breaker trips as soon as I hit the switch. The seal on the enclosure appears to be fine as I don't see water inside. Maybe there is something else I'm missing.

Your pool light bulb wiring could be bad and you can have a short somewhere underground. I recently re-did my pool pump wiring and bulb light wiring from 12 gauge to 14 gauge because I had a short in ground from corroded pipes.
