Many of our members choose to hard plumb their AGP or semi-in ground pool. Have you considered that?

+1. Any long time Above ground pooler will tell you there's 2 kinds of equipment hoses The ones that already blew, and the ones that wait for you to pull out of your driveway on your way to a two week cruise before they blow.
Make sure you use the pressure rated PVC, Schedule 40 white stuff.

Having only used hoses for 20 years on our last pool I can say hard plumb the filter! It seemed that I replaced hoses all the time. As Newdude said, they spring a leak or slit at the worst moment. I've come home from work with a hose deciding to become a fountain and once had the pool drain because it split.

I used flex pvc from the pump to the filter- with a 45
I have a mix of hoses & pvc due to needing unions & valves & such while also needing flexibility and the ability to remove everything for winter
