So we are likely going to put a pool in some time next year and I want to be as educated as possible. What is the average length of the slope of a pool. Lets assume we are going from 3.5 feet to 6 feet. Is there an engineering standard that can be referenced or is it all up to the builder?

We were told 7 feet for every 1 foot of drop.

thats a very gradual slope and if your pool is long enough a good one. I can post blueprint of my 14x30 I have a 6.5 to 1 slope and you can stand anywhere in the pool if you are tall enough comfortably

Mine is a 1:3 drop...drops one foot for every three linear feet. So total of 3' drop over 9'. I wanted the largest shallow end I could have, and so I just made it how I wanted it.
