Pool Bonding with regards to burying an above ground pool.

I have a specific question about pool bonding. I am "partially" burying a 52" aquasport52 24" in the ground...so my question is...can I place the bond wire in the bottom of the 24" ditch and backfill all the way...or do I need to backfill and then only go down 4" to 6" from finished grade to place the bonding wire? Everything I have read about pool bonding states the wire needs to be at least 4 to 6 inches from finished grade...but it does not say that I can go deeper if needed. this is confusing when it comes to burying an above ground pool and trying to run the bond wire.

Anyone know?

Thanks!

My understanding is that the area around the bonding wire that brings everything to the same potential is about 2 feet. So if you bury the wire that deep, it isn’t going to be effective at the surface, where you are standing.

All the code I have read says the bonding wire should be 4-6” below surface.
