Just for fun, this is a sight glass that I added to the backwash side of my pool diverter. Good way to know when the backwash process is done. If you add something with printed letters below the pipe, you can see the progress more clearly.
You can get the clear 1-1/2" PVC online, it was kind of expensive, but I look at it every time I backwash, and it saves pool water.
