Poll: Through wall skimmer in a soft-side (Intex, Coleman, etc) pool

I've read a ton on this topic on the forum and my mind tells me I should just go for it. But my heart says STOP!!!

My "poll question" is: what is the elapsed time between when you received your skimmer to when you actually built up enough courage to install it?

For me, it is 7 days and counting. Hoping to get up the nerve to put the pool "under the knife" this weekend.

So, how about you? If you've done this upgrade, how long did it take you to build up the nerve to do it?

Ha Ha! I was ready before it came, but my husband not so much. It took him till the weekend (3 days) but I had him out there bright and early Saturday morning. Afterwards, he said it went much better than he expected and took less that 30 minutes from start to topping the water back up. Go for it.

3 hours?? ...took us like 30 minutesto do it all...Lol.. we did it and I'm not sold on it yet. I'm guessing there's sometrick to where to point the return. It isnt hard at all!!! We had some leaks but taking it off and puttingbit back on without super tightening was the trick!!!

Did Mine last night. I had to wait til the water was in the pool high enough to get the walls taut. My wife was helping me and when I stuck the awl through the first screw hole she said "There goes the warranty". When I actually cut out the opening I handed the cutout piece to her and said her is a memento of your warranty. I love it.. Water still isnt high enough to know if it leaks or not. but it just gives that 26' coleman pool a look of a real pool...

I received mine during the week, installed it that Saturday. I had to take a deep breath before I popped that first hole through, but after that easy-peasy.

There is a link to the install in my signature.

The next thing I did was add a Skim-It. Big difference in the amount of debris in the skimmer after installing it.

Skim It Skimmer Arm ─ Pool Cleaning Accessories ─ In the Swim

I had to get creative to mount it, but well worth the effort.
