Running my filter at 2,000 rpms.

The polaris is running right about 27-28 rpms - so the bottom of the 28-32 range.

I do not have any restrictor plate (blue or red) currently installed - just free flow water through a 2" pipe

There is a lot of water being expelled through the relief valve - guessing it's normal but just wanted to check.

Put the blue restrictor disc in and see how things change. See page 10 in https://www.polarispool.com/-/media/zodiac/global/downloads/h/h0645700.pdf?force=1

You should not have water coming out of the PRV. Either:
  • You have too much pressure and the PRV is doing its job then the blue or red disc should fix it
  • You have some dirt in the PRV. Unscrew it and check it out. Make sure the PRV is tightened down.
  • You have a defective PRV and replace it.

Runs slower with the blue disc in - 24 rpms - that's why I removed it to increase the water flow.

Dedicated 2" line from the pump to the pool with the Polaris PB4-60 booster pump
