Our 11 year old Polaris finally died, so we replaced it with the 3900 Sport. I measured the hose for our pool, cut out a small portion to get the overall right length, and reattached it. The problem is the connection is loose, and water leaks out where we reattached. Not a lot, it still (mostly) works, but I think the leak is lowering the pressure and the Polaris goes a lot slower as a result.
I have tightened it multiple times, yet it still leaks. It seems like the water may be leaking from the middle plastic part (shown in attached pic), not either of the the 2 sides where the hose is directly attached (which is where I would expect it to leak from given that is what we cut and then reattached.) I wish we had run it once before cutting to know if the middle plastic part was just faulty from the beginning.
Does anyone have any advice for tightening these connections?
Thanks so much!
