Just rebuilt my Polaris 380. Put it in the pool, it started doing great, then it got to the shallow end of the pool and got stuck against the wall, the back up valve engaged, pulled it away from the wall, but it went right back and got stuck again. I've slowed the rpms with the red disc, tried adjusting the thrust jet, I'm kind of at a loss. I know I need to shorten the hose, but that shouldn't have any adverse affect on the direction of the unit. Any ideas?

Boy, I just don't know never having one of these, but I know this has come up many times. Hoping a bump here will help you out.
