Plumbing/SWG setup issues.

Never got around to finishing the landscaping around the pool equipment. My issue is they installed the SWG about 2-3 inches below ground level as pictured. When removing it to maintain, it becomes a mess from water coming out of pool side pipe. Looking for landscaping/plumbing routing solutions. Pool decking is about 6-10" away from pool pipe/SWG. Almost everything is on the table.

The simplest thing to do would be to rotate the SWCG up to level and pointing to the left.

Then I'd dig down and cut the return pipe below ground to save the other union.

And then I'd replumb from the left side of the SWCG back down to the cut return pipe in the dirt.

It would add a couple of 90's to your plumbing, but you will never notice the difference.

That’s what I was figuring. Love learning new stuff. PVC piping YouTube here I come. Only pool issue is the certain length coming out of the filter back to pool right?

So, is there a way to rotate the top connection to level or do I have to cut and replumb with new union? Dig down, cut bottom union off for reuse. Reconnect with 90 at bottom base, possibly digging out and then 90 up to connect to the 90 down from cell union?

uh,

The pipes going into the filter are connected with unions, so you should be able to loosen the union and rotate the pipe and the SWCG as one piece.

One thing to keep in mind is when you cut the pipe below ground, if that point is below the water level in the pool, water will come out until the pool water and the pipe are at the same level. (Don't ask me how I know this... )

If you cut the bottom pipe low enough, you should still be able to use the existing union.

I just went out and looked and confirmed exactly what you said. And on the second part, that is exactly what I was thinking as when i clean the cell, it turns into a mess until my dumbass finally realized i could plug it while cleaning. Thanks. I'll dig into it next weekend but I'm curious if it will be better to go 90 right away (possibly leaving the bottom length underground or go up a bit and then 90 keeping it above ground. Nothing is "landscaped" so I have a blank canvas here.

Going unground from the cut pipe and then up to the cell would work just fine.

If you were doing this new, then you'd want more straight pipe before the cell, but I doubt you will ever notice the difference.

Going to re-route everything this weekend. I'm thinking I'll have to drain pool to below skimmer level to get a dry pipe for fitting? Or I guess I can just "shut" the skimmer inlet?
