Plumbing pipe sizing change ok?

This feels like such a ridiculous question, but:

If I paid for upgraded 2.5” return lines for my 8 therapy jets in my elevated spa… should that be a 2.5” main run that, once it enters the shell of the spa, reduces down to 2” piping which then travels around all 4 walls to form a loop?

This is the way the plumbers have currently configured my lines and I’m trying to ensure I’m not being jipped by them not using 2.5” piping throughout the entirety of the spa loop (ie - all the way to the actual jets).

Not sure if it matters, but I also have upgraded to 3” suction for the spa.

You are fine.

The return main feed is 2.5”. The flow in that feed splits into multiple flows in 2” pipes. No 2” pipe will see as much flow as what the 2.5” pipe carries.
