Plumbing Diagram and IC/Actuator placement

Hello - Plumbing was installed and I am happy with the work, but the sub left without walking me through the system. I believe that I have it figured out, but I was hoping that some of the experts here might confirm my labels and whether or not my IC/actuator placement is correct.

Also, is it typical for the plumber, who ran the gas lines, not to hook up the heater? If so, which sub is responsible for heater hook up?

Thanks!

Jason

Jason,

The valve just before your pump is the "Intake" valve and yes it should have an actuator if you have an automation system.

The valve right after your heater is your "Return" valve and it should also have an actuator. These two actuators will allow you to select between the pool and the Spa.

Your location for the SWCG is correct, although I'm not sure that a check valve is needed since the SWCG will only generate chlorine when the pump is running.

Thanks,

Jim R.

Thanks, I appreciate the confirmation!

Can anyone help with the loop that I'm referring to as a Hartford Loop on the right of the picture? I know the Harford loop is actually in the spa wall but this line goes to the jets for aeration, correct? If so, how does it work being capped like this?

That isn't actually a Hartford loop. That is probably just the air intake line for the spa jets. A Hartford loop is only effective when placed close to the spa.

Are there holes in the bottom cap or is it open to the air?

The one in the spa is a Hartford loop. The other one may have been capped for pressure testings. That cap will need to be removed or the jets will not have any bubbles.
