Hi all,

First time poster. I am a complete pool noob.

Our house has a PENTAIR 521632 | SOLARTOUCH SOLAR CONTROL SYSTEM.

We live in FL. We disabled solar heating but the water temperature on the screen is reading still reading around 219 degrees Fahrenheit after several days. We tried setting solar cool to 40 degrees but no real change, it’s steamy hot.

Any tips? Our pool guy doesn’t know how the system works he said and he disabled solar heat but no change. We basically can’t use the pool it’s so hot :(

Your water temperature sensor needs replacing. It's an easy job.

I believe disabling solar heat also disables solar cooling. Try enabling solar and setting the temperature set points for heating and cooling as low as possible.

We are going to try enabling solar heat (set as low as possible) and enable solar cool (set as low as possible) and see what happens.

Also we’ll look into replacing the water temp sensor. Thank you!

If this still doesn’t fix it, any thoughts? The only reason I ask is I think my pool guy tried this originally

I would say replacing the sensor is the first thing to do. If the Solartouch still reads above the boiling point, the Solartouch may need repair or replacement.
