Plaster Dust Color

We had our pool plastered (Aruba Sky Reflections quartz) and an acid start to expose the aggregate. As I brush the plaster it gives off a dust (expected) that is a light brown color. I was expecting white. Am wondering if the light brown is related to the blue quartz.

There was definitely no rebar exposed in the gunite shell so shouldn’t be rust.
