Planning to convert to SWCG (likely many posts to come in that forum!). Picture of my current install. Putting the SWCG on the return line from the heater, in the circled section. Currently have 12" of pipe and need roughly 24". Would rotate 90 fitting on heater to exit horizontal (pointing to the fence), add a new 12" run, add a 90 to drop down, and then come back to the valves with a new 90, giving me more room for the SWCG. So, the two questions:
1. For backflow, have looked at the Jandy 90 degree one, instead of the lower new 90 return. Would it work? Or should I go with a more standard in-line - if so, where? Jandy seems to only indicate in their instructions a location having a column of water that can "push back" to close the check valve if flow reverses.
2. Any suggestions for how best to support the new loop? Fence will be too far away. Google has only come up with a "Tomahawk ground stake" - curved pvc cradle on a piece of rebar. Having seen how other plastic pipe hangers degrade outdoors quickly, not a big fan. A Tee fitting with a pvc leg in the ground? That adds to the length of the new run...any other ideas?
