pH and alkalinity off

Hello all, I'm looking for some guidance here as I just don't seem to understand. I have the TF-100 test kit and yesterday showed my PH as 7.8 and my Alkalinity at 110. I know my pH has been creeping up and the app suggested adding 13oz of 31.45% Muriatic Acid, which I did.

When I tested again this morning as expected my pH came down to 7.6 but my Alk went up to 120? I would have expected the Alk to drop as the pH goes down. The app is now suggesting I add Soda Ash. Is this normal or am I missing something? Any advice is appreciated.

In your volume pool that amount of acid would not change TA by more than a point or two. And one extra drop during the TA test is just normal error, so no issue.

Remember you have ranges for Recommended Levels. The app just selects a mid point for Target. You do not have to act on it if within the range.
