This is my 4th summer with with a 31k salt water plaster pool. The first summer I never shocked the pool and the water looked great all summer. 2 years ago I increased my CYA after reading this form that SWG pools should have higher CYA levels than what I was running. Last summer I had to SLAM 3-4 times to keep the water clear. Now by the fourth summer I notice a persistent haze in the pool. I did SLAM upon pool opening but after back to back end of the school year parties my water is hazy. Any ideas? My FC is much higher than it historically has been and and I'm more hazy than I used to be. My chemistry this am
pH 7.6
Alk 150 (i know this is a bit high, adding acid)
FC 16 (FAS-DPD method)
CC 0
CYA 60 (used to run more 30-40)
CH 330
salt level 3200ppm
alk phos 50 ppb (was curious if i was having algae blooms, this seems unlikely given my high FC)
brand new cartridge filters installed on pool opening
variable speed pump running 6-8 hrs a day and low speeds almost the entirety of remaining 24 hrs
Maybe I'm not running the filter on high long enough. Maybe the 20-30 kids who have been in the pool the past 48 hrs have overwhelmed it, but the water generally wasn't hazy in the past when this would happen.
