Pentaire eti400 AG2 sensor error

I have a recent (2019) eti400 that has been working just fine up until the outside weather started getting cooler. (it's an indoor pool). - it runs on propane and is side-vented.
We had a few days of milder weather since the heater stopped working, so I don't believe the outdoor temperature to be the primary issue, if it's an issue at all. In years past, the heater would shut down when it was exceptionally cold, but a power cycle would restore everything to normal operation.

The heater will currently ignite after a power cycle, but for only about 5-10 seconds and then shut down with an AG2 sensor error. Outflow from the pump is normal, PSI is 15 at the sand filter. Propane tank is at 80% capacity
I have replaced both AGS sensors (42001-0063S and 42001-0053S), but still get the sensor error.

I am in a relatively remote area, not closely serviced by Pentaire and would like to eliminate as many simple causes as possible before calling out a technician. Can someone please direct me for next steps in troubleshooting?
Thank you!

Welcome to TFP.

Check the Internal Bypass Valve and Thermal Governor. The AGS fault indicated that the heater's internal water temperature is too high.
