I have an sd80 sand filter. I've been experiencing intermittent sand in my pool over the past 5 years. The sand is original, never changed in the past 12 years. I'm in the process of vaccing it out and I'm wondering how I can remove the lateral mechanism to inspect it for cracks, fractures, etc. I know there are Hayward laterals that bend upward for easy retrieval and for the life of me, I cant figure out how to fix this. Thanks for looking.
