Hey guys!
I think I'm having trouble with my Kreepy Krauly Prowler 820. It shuts down after doing a fraction of the pool with the 'filter full' light coming on. However the filters are pretty darn clean. Last year I could run the thing with the filters a lot fuller than it's shutting down at now.
That said, I'm wondering how the unit determines the cleanliness of the filters. Does it detect drag on the spinning fan suggesting a reduction of water flow through the unit? Reason I'm asking that is because I noticed some weeds wrapped around the fan earlier in the season so I took that part out and cleaned the weeds but the fan itself doesn't spin freely. I don't know if that's par for the course though.
SO! Question one: how freely does the fan spin when you have the unit out and spin it with your finger?
Question two: If the fan does indeed normally feel draggy could there be any other easy solution to my problem?
I tried the pool store I bought it from (who are actually really good - no horror stories or copper sales there!) but they're doing the skeleton staff thing right now so I can't talk to a tech for a few days.
What do you think?
(Thanks in advance).
