Hey All. This is my first time trying to connect my inlaws SolarTouch to an Intelliflo3 pump. I have two main questions I'm trying to answer (and any follow-up experiences are appreciated):
1. Do I need to remove the female plug if I use the Pentair 350122 communication cable so I can just connect via the green and yellow wires?
2. If I do need to remove the plug, can I use any Cat5 r Cat6 RS485 cable?

I read the SolarTouch manual, but it didn't see anything about removing the plug. It seems this cable was more for the older models with the actual port on the board. Any help or experiences are greatly appreciated.

Welcome to TFP.

Intellipro3 does not use a special RS-485 cable. You can cut off the connector from your existing cable to reuse it or use a new cable. If you use a Cat-5 cable I twist two pair together to form one wire.

Check the firmware level of your pump and SolarTouch for compatibility. Read…

Thanks! I'll give the Cat5 a try first (with your suggestion) and see if I can save the money on the Pentair cable.
