Looking at:
011075
vs
011060
011057

The older ones are available online under the EC warranty. Essentially, it's $1942 for an Intelliflo3 with a 4 year protection plan from Amazon vs $1900 for an older Intelliflo from Polytec with Pentair's 2 year EC warranty.

Anyone have any experience with the Amazon protection plans on pool equipment?

How will an Amazon warranty on a pool pump be handled? Will they send someone out to look at it and repair it or replace it? Will you need to ship the pump to them? How long will your pool be down for while waiting for a warranty repair? What will it take Amazon to get parts to repair it?

Pentair will send an authorized repair tech out to repair or replace your pump under warranty.

I think the two warranties are very different.

Intelliflo3 at Polytec is $1760 with the Pentair warranty provided you have professional installation…

Do NOT get the 011057 SVRS pump. It is a terrible pump that is overly sensitive and difficult to get restarted.

The 011060 i2 pump is less powerful then the IntelliFlo3.

Yeah, I’m not sure on the warranty from amazon. Just saw it/square trade warranties mentioned here in the past.

I didn’t think Pentair would honor warranties on online purchases if they weren’t EC part numbers.

If that's incorrect, that saves me a lot of headache, I was planning to buy most of my new equipment from Polytec. Regarding the "professional install", Pentair's website says it's "defined as a licensed professional who charges a fee for his services, and possesses a business license, contractor's license and/or resale permit. Common examples of a "qualified installer" include: Swimming Pool, Home Repair or Landscape Professional; Plumber or Electrician; General Contractor; Heating and Air Conditioning Specialist."

Based on my understanding, that means someone who gets paid to be a General Contractor should be able to install it, correct?

Correct, Pentair was a wide definition of a Professional Installation. Just get an invoice showing the install from the Professional to submit to Pentair when you register the warranty. Register the warranty online after installation.

And Pentair honors the full warranty when buying online from Polytec?

You call Polytec and place a phone order. That way it is NOT an e-commerce order and you have an invoice showing you purchased it from a Pentair dealer.

With a phone order invoice from Polytec and an invoice from a Professional Installer it meets Pentairs warranty requirements.
