Pentair Hybrid heat pump

My 5 year old Pentair Ultratemp Hybrid lost all of it's Freon. Who knew it had freon.... Anyway, the warranty states that the Heat pump side has a lifetime warranty and the gas side has a 2 or 3 year warranty. Pentair is hesitant to acknowledge that this is the heat pump side but a gas heater has no use for freon. Any additional arguments that I can throw at them?

All heat pumps use some type of refrigerant, typically R410A now.

Who told you your hybrid heater lost all its refrigerant?

Did they identify exactly where the leak was?

Pentair says the titanium heat pump exchanger has a lifetime warranty. There are other places, like the compressor, that can leak out the refrigerant.

How old is the hybrid heater?
