I have a Pentair Easy Touch Dual 8 Function controller installed in 2008. All worked perfectly until this year. Now the wired indoor controller says "no comm" and the outdoor controller can not set schedules or run the pool and separate spa correctly in some modes. All wiring has checked out. Did replace the outside control board, still have same issues. Not sure if the new control board is also bad. Got it on ebay. Can the board be purchased through a reputable dealer still? I know the Easy Touch has been discontinued. Or does it make sense to upgrade? I think the Pentair Intellicenter upgrade kit 523218 or 523530 would work. Not sure of the differences between those 2. Anyone do the upgrade on an old Easy Touch and how did it work out?

Welcome to TFP. Sorry you haven't had a reply.

With the ET being discontinued, at this point we generally recommend upgrading it to or replacing it with an Intellicenter. Sorry, I don't know the difference between the 2 kits.

D,

What kind of pump do you have? VS or single speed??

In my mind, if we could get your current system working without spending any real money, that would be the best option.

But if the cost to repair your old system is more than $500 bucks, then it would make more sense to upgrade to the IntelliCenter.

If you got a new circuit card, it most likely did not come with any programming.. What did you do after it was installed? Anything?

Edit... I assume that you do not have ScreenLogic.. is that true??

Edit... Is your inside unit wired or wireless??

Thanks,

Jim R.

The only restriction I can see that it has to be bought from a brick and motor retailer and installed by a professional installed
