So our old pool pump burnt out we bought the same exact one but a new version of our old pump. When primed the pump but the pump itself sounds very low and the water flow sounds low too our filter pressure is only at 5psi and there’s a big air pocket in the pump on the top of the lid that the water won’t fill. We’ve tried to do everything we can to bleed out the air including opening up the air relief valve on top of the filter. Any ideas on what could be causing this and what we can do to fix it thank you

Welcome to TFP :)

If there is air in the pump basket you have a suction side leak.. Did you have air in the pump before the new pump?

If there was no air before the leak is in the new fittings connecting the new pump... You can do 1 of a couple things..

1. try to seal with Plast-aid, this stuff is amazing, it stopped a leak in mine 9 years ago and it is still not leaking..
Amazon.com : 2-Pack Plast-Aid Acrylic, PVC, ABS, CPVC, Plastic Repair Kit - 2 x 6 oz. Kits (12 oz. total) : Swimming Pool And Spa Supplies : Garden & Outdoor

2. cut everything new out and start over.. Use rain and shine blue on both pieces after priming both sides of the pipe for 20 seconds each.. Hold the pipe together for 30 seconds to make sure the weld holds..

Is the pump connection 1.5 inch? If so use these unions if you can.. if 2 inch they also make those :)

What is the supply voltage?

Sounds like you are supplying 120 volts to a pump set to 230 volts.

Note: Do not change the voltage selector setting unless you are 100% sure that you know what the supply voltage is.

If you change the setting to 115 volts and the supply is 230 volts, the motor will burn up.
