Pentair automatic water leveling system not working

No water is being let into the pool. I raised the plastic bottle looking thing and nothing happens.

Side note, the pump turned on with the vacuum out of the pool, the pump shut off. I removed the air from the pump and then the pump started working again, not sure if this caused the issue, but I noticed it the next day

I have a pentair intelliflow variable speed pump, pool was installed 2019

Check that the shutoff valve someplace at the house is open.

There is no connection between the autofill and the pump.

Post pics of your autofill.

Unscrew the valve the float is connected to and see if water comes out.

Water started coming out as I was unscrewing it. I stopped unscrewing it because it seems to be working. Should I screw it back to where it was? And should I replace the white tape?

Okay, so you have water to the float valve.

You can screw the float valve back in and see if it works now.

Or you may need to replace the float valve.

Mine is a toilet type fill valve and I sometimes have to give it a twist to one side and then back to the other to get it to function correctly, maybe once a year when I notice the water is a bit low.
