So, w/in a couple weeks of filling the pool a couple spots showed up. Look like little rust stars. Builder said it was normal and to fill a small bottle w muriatic acid and hit the spots w them. That worked real well. Now a couple weeks later I see 2-3X as many! This is very frustrating. To me it appears that something used in the Pebble sheen or the “sparkles” is prone to rusting.
After a bit of research I saw that this was a large scale national problem from the manufacturer about 10-15 years ago, then not much about it until recently, and it seems to be happening again w greater frequency..
1. How wide spread is this problem
2. Is there a broader spectrum treatment as opposed to constantly swimming down w muriatic acid or vit C tabs.
3. Which is “better”: Muriatic acid/ Vit C
