Is it an acceptable method to apply a pebble finish over hairline cracks in a shotcrete shell? A worker told me they just apply over the cracks and it won't cause an issue. Should I be concerned? If I already posted this, pardon me, I can't seem to find it. Thanks,

Yes, shotcrete and gunite are not waterproof. That's what the fancy finish is for. No worries about hairline cracks.

Well that makes me feel better. I have hairline cracks running across the bottom in both directions and when I questioned the builder about it, it said it was due to the hot weather and hot shotcrete and they would fix. Bad part if it is that if they had shot it in early March the heat outside probably wouldn't have been an issue. As long as it doesn't cause me issues afterwards, I'll be ok. Watering the shotcrete/gunite as it drys helps it cure evenly. It slows down the drying. Especially in hot weather that is a common pratice.
