Pea green water after one month

I’d appreciate any advice. I didn’t remove my cover until 5/30/18. I’ve been following the SLAM process since then. Today’s readings were CC0, FC12, CYA55, PH7.0, TA50, CH160. (corrected at 10:11pm). The leaves are out and my Dolphin robot has been vacuuming. I run the pump 24x7, backwash daily and use one cup of DE powder in the skimmer. The green is getting lighter, but I’m worried about how long it’s taking compared to previous years. I use 56% powder shock dissolved in a five gallon pail and dumped in the deep end.

How are you testing?

I would suggest using liquid chlorine. You need to test and dose every hour or so until the pool starts to hold chlorine. The CC of 12 is a bit unreal. Have you used any non-chlorine 'shock' lately?

I see you edited it so FC is 12 and CC 0. That is more realistic.

You need to SLAM Process. Your CYA is 60 (round up) so SLAM level FC is 24 ppm.

Raise your FC to 24 ppm and maintain that by testing often. Every couple hours to start.

I suggest again to use liquid chlorine. Using large amounts of cal hypo will raise CH, but also you will get some non dissolved solids on your liner and it will bleach it out.

Take care.
