Partial burying AGP - Anything to consider during backfill for winterizing?

As title states, dropping an AGP a couple feet. This has been a challenge for sure. Ground is almost level and we will be putting up walls and doing initial installation in a few days. We will fill it up then begin the backfilling. Our neighbor who works for a construction company asked me what I am going to put on the outside of the pool before the backfill for winters when ground freezes etc. Told him noting, we just filling it in. He was surprised so figure I would ask the expert or people who have partially buried an AGP, anything we should consider here? We live outside of STL, so we get snow and freezing over winters but not like if we were further north.

Thoughts? Appreciate the feedback, this been a pretty stressful project so far... don't want to make any mistakes that will cause the pool to fail later. I should make a building thread, there has been quite a few lessons learned so far....

Yes, please make a building thread!! I'm eventually doing a semi...was all set then Covid changed my plans...but love watching others' builds while I wait to start mine. Although I don't have one yet, the installer came out to discuss the build, and with the pool I'm planning there wasn't anything special being done regarding winterizing. It was going to be back filled with stone. Some pools do require a concrete apron if set in the ground. I read this helps with shifting, so the whole pool moves and not just parts. The pool I"m getting requires this. I've not read anything about doing something special to winterize a semi. There are several semi builds on here so hopefully those who've been there, done that will chime in. Good luck with everything and can't wait to see pics!
