Hello,

I am looking to clean my wood deck with a diluted solution of Oxalic acid and would like to know if anyone has any experience or thoughts on the run-off of the solution potentially dropping into my chlorinated pool. The solution would be diluted, and I have head that Oxalic acid sometimes used in pools, but in this case, if my chemistry is all good, would some of this solution running off into my pool be a concern? Thank you!

Oxalic acid (or oxalate ion) in the pool is readily oxidized by chlorine to carbon dioxide so nothing remains. It may lower your pH, but nothing terrible. It may also combine with calcium in the pool and be a bit cloudy and may take some time to clear. If some gets in, watch your FC and keep it up.

Welcome to TFP.

A bit of diluted Oxalic acid runoff into your pool will not cause problems. It may lower your pH a bit.

Just check your water chemistry afterwards.

Amazing, thank you for the quick responses and experienced feedback - much appreciated!

Can I further ask if there is any concern if a diluted oxygen based bleach product such as Oxyclean did the same and ran off into pool - any concerns?

No, just keep an eye on the water chemistry afterwards.
