Optimum CYA

Hey,

If you have a 24K IG vinyl liner chlorine pool, and had your choice of any CYA level, what would the optimum level be?

Very confusing about CYA and chlorine level to run. I get that part but if you had a choice, where would you ant to be?

If slamming 30, with the heat we've had, I'm aiming for 40. Gives me room to edge up to 50 if I need to.

I think the answer is as little as you need to minimize chlorine loss to from UV. It’s a trial an error thing. The more heat and sun, the more you need.

I have run my CYA at 40 and run at 60. Don't see much of a difference, so...Which would be better? I just am not sure if one level is better then another.

In New Jersey that probably makes sense. In climates that have much harsher UV conditions, that may not be true.
