I had an SWG added to my pool prior to opening. I am planning on opening this coming weekend. I plan on getting the water in shape before starting up the SWG, but want to make sure I address the water parameters in the correct order. Based on the pool school article "Water Balance for SWGs"--which doesn't exactly address opening a pool with a new SWG, my plan for now is as follows:
.) Add salt to 3000 ppm
.) Adjust CA and TA
.) Adjust CYA to non-SWG levels
.) Adjust pH
.) SLAM pool with liquid chlorine
.) start SWG once everything is stable
.) Add CYA to be consistent with recommended levels for SWG.
.) Add boric acid
Does anyone see any issues with this order of operation? Is there a better way?
