Just in case anyone is following this topic: It took 3 gallons of 31% MA to get my pH to 7.5, TA=110.
A lot more than I had predicted!

quick question: I'm shocking now, keeping CL at 16.0 with CYA at 40. The water looks clear, I only lost 1ppm CL overnight last night, CC = 0 to .5. I was wondering how much CL I could expect to lose between tests that I do every 1-2 hours or so during the day today. I have been losing 3 ppm at most, usually less today between tests. It has been cool but fairly sunny today. Does it sound like I'm still fighting algae? I was planning on keeping shock levels up today and trying a OCLT tonight.

You can just let FC fall back to normal maintenance levels and start enjoying your pool
